Pre-monsoon activities witnessed in several parts of the State

Pre-monsoon activities were witnessed across the state. There is a period of thunderstorm and rain due to Western Disturbance and Cyclonic Circulation.

On Tuesday, there was heavy rain in Dhar, while thunderstorms occurred in more than 10 districts. Thunderstorms and rain are expected in the next 24. There is an orange alert in Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla and Balaghat. On the other hand, hot winds are blowing in Tikamgarh, Niwari, Singrauli.

There will be thunderstorms and lightning in Sheopur Kalan, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, Khargone, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Harda, Narmadapuram, Betul, Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori and Anuppur.

In the afternoon, there was rain with strong thunderstorms in Dhar. At the same time, the weather was also changed in Ratlam, Jhabua, Agar, Betul, Alirajpur, Barwani, Burhanpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Pandhurna, Balaghat, Ujjain, Rajgarh, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Khargone, Khandwa, Indore, Mandla, Dindori. Earlier, many cities were also affected by heat.

Rewa was the hottest. The day temperature here was 44.6 degrees. The top-10 cities with the highest temperature in the state include Singrauli, Sidhi, Satna, Gwalior, Shahdol, Khajuraho, Shivpuri, Jabalpur and Umaria. It was 44.3 degrees in Singrauli, 44 degrees in Sidhi, 43.3 degrees in Satna, 42.8 degrees in Gwalior, 42.4 degrees in Shahdol, 41.4 degrees in Khajuraho, 41 degrees in Shivpuri, 40.7 degrees in Jabalpur and 40.6 degrees Celsius in Umaria. In major cities, Bhopal recorded 39.3 degrees, Indore 36.6 degrees, Gwalior 42.8 degrees, Jabalpur 40.7 degrees and Ujjain recorded 37.8 degrees.

In the past 24 hours rain was recorded at some places in Jabalpur division and some places in Indore, Narmadapuram, Ujjain divisions and weather remained mostly dry in remaining divisions. Rewa and Umaria witnessed heat waves while  Shivpuri and Umaria witnessed hot nights.

Day temperatures increased significantly in Ujjain, Gwalior division and there was no significant change in temperature in the remaining divisions. It was significantly above than normal in Rewa division and normal in the remaining divisions.

The night temperatures did not change significantly in remaining divisions. They were below normal in districts of Indore division; above normal in districts of Gwalior, Rewa, Sagar divisions and normal in districts of the rest of the divisions.

From yesterday till today morning, dust storm occurred in Shivpuri, Guna; thunderstorm and strong winds occurred in Alirajpur, Barwani, Burhanpur, Dhar, Indore, Jhabua, Khandwa, Khargone, Ujjain, Dewas, Rajapur, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Shivpuri, Guna, Raisen, Harda, Narmadapuram, Betul, Sagar, Damoh, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori.
