Fifteen days after the murder of Divya Pahuja, a former Gurugram-based model and girlfriend of slain gangster Sandeep Gadoli who was shot dead at a hotel here, the police in search operation along with the Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) workers recovered the murder weapon on Wednesday.
During the search operation in brushes located near Palam Vihar Mod on Old Delhi Road, the police recovered a pistol along with a live cartridge."The weapon was recovered following the direction of the prime accused Abhijeet Singh. He was accompanying police following which during a search operation along with MCG workers weapon was recovered," Varun Dahiya, ACP (crime) said.
Meanwhile, Abhijeet Singh was sent to judicial custody after competition eight days police remand period on Wednesday, police said.Divya's body was recovered on January 13 -- eleven days after she was shot dead at a hotel, and was cremated on January 14 by her family members.
Divya, 27, was allegedly killed by Abhijeet Singh, the owner of Hotel City Point where she was staying.Divya's body was recovered from a canal in Tohana in Haryana's Fatehabad district on January 13.According to the police, Divya and Abhijeet were in a relationship.
