Thursday, 12 September 2024 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

Manatu police have solved a murder case in less than a week where if it had got delayed it would have meant jail and other atrocities for the 7 named accused!

OC Manatu Nirmal Oraon is a very dedicated investigator, said the locals in Manatu.

A 68 year old man identified as Raja Yadav was killed with wooden poles in his sleep on September 5 night at village Ghungree under the Manatu police station limits.

The deceased's wife Radha Devi lodged the FIR on September 6. She named 7 accused of this murder of her husband along with 10 or 12 unknown people.

Manatu police station officer in charge Nirmal Oraon investigated the case with professionalism.

It resulted in the arrest of 2 not listed among the 7 named accused.

The two arrested were Mukesh Kumar, 23 and Yogender Singh, 28.

Mukesh Kumar had returned home to Gunghree village  from Maharashtra Jalna company only on September 3.

Police officer Nirmal Oraon said Mukesh had a deep seated revenge for Raja Yadav. He used to blame Raja Yadav for the death of his niece three years ago.

Mukesh had this strong belief that Raja Yadav practices witchcraft and had cast evil eyes on his niece who ultimately died.

Police officer Oraon said on September 5 Mukesh and his partner Yogender pulled mugs of wine twice and in an inebriated condition murdered Raja Yadav in his sleep at night with two wooden poles.

It was Raja Yadav whose luck had failed. He on that fateful night slept not in the room of his house but outside and that tempted Mukesh and Yogender to finish him. And they finished him.

Police officer Nirmal Oraon admitted that the two arrested and jailed didn't mention name of any of the 7 named accused.

Nevertheless the 7 named accused will have to move court for bail in apprehension of their arrest under section 482 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 court sources said.
