A 31-year-old police constable was attacked by three unidentified persons with sharp edged weapons near Kotra Sultanabad area late in the night on Saturday.

Police said that three unknown youths stopped  the victim, police constable Sanjay Malviya. They demanded money by being stubborn and when he refused, they attacked him with a sword injuring him.

The injured policeman has accused the local police of delay in action. The complainant was posted in CM security till a day before. On Saturday, he was transferred to the DRP line.

Sanjay Malviy lives in government residence Kotra Sultanabad. He is working as a constable in MP Police. He said that till Saturday he was posted in CM security. He was posted as a driver in the convoy vehicle.

On Friday night, he was returning home after buying ice cream from Depot Square. At around 10 pm, three unknown youths stopped him near his house.

The accused misbehaved with him and demanded money for liquor. When Sanjay protested, the miscreants beat him up. Meanwhile, a youth took out a sword. The first attack could not injure him as the sword hit him from the back side. In the second attack, he got a deep cut on his leg. To save his life, he left his bike on the spot and ran towards home.

Sanjay said that the distance of his house from the incident spot is just 100 meters. He reached home in an injured condition. From there, he reached Kamla Nagar police station with his wife and neighbors and told the whole incident. Police did not give proper response at the police station.

According to Sanjay, when he reached the police station, the police station in-charge madam was present there. When he told her the whole incident, she did not show any seriousness. She said that we will call the accused after catching them. After this, I was sent from the police station. After returning to the colony, I told this to my senior officers. He has been posted with me in CM security. My officers reached the police station with me. They talked to the police station in-charge, then the FIR was registered.

Police station in-charge Nirupa Pandey said that immediate action was taken after hearing the complaint. Police force was sent to the incident spot. The victim was given medical treatment. An FIR has been lodged and the search for the accused has begun. All the allegations against the police are baseless.
