PM Modi to flag off 6 Vande Bharat Express Trains from Jamshedpur

Saturday, 14 September 2024 | PNS | Jamshedpur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off six Vande Bharat Express trains on September 15 in a significant event that highlights the ongoing modernization of the railway network. These express trains, each linked to Jharkhand, will be inaugurated at a grand ceremony at Tatanagar railway station. The event is also expected to showcase several key railway infrastructure projects aimed at boosting connectivity and convenience in Jharkhand and neighboring states.

While initial reports indicated that up to ten Vande Bharat Express trains and the first-ever 20-coach Vande Bharat Express were set to be launched on this day, only six trains, specifically related to Jharkhand, will now be inaugurated on September 15th. The decision was reportedly taken to streamline the inauguration process, with the remaining projects scheduled for the following day, September 16th.

The six Vande Bharat Express trains will cover vital routes connecting key cities in Jharkhand and neighbouring states, significantly improving travel efficiency for passengers across these regions.

The flagged-off trains include: Tatanagar - Patna (South Eastern Railway): Flagging off from Tatanagar, this express train will strengthen connectivity between the industrial hub of Tatanagar and Bihar's capital, Patna.

Varanasi - Deoghar (Northern Railway): Departing from Deoghar, the train will link the spiritual centers of Varanasi and Deoghar, providing a faster and more comfortable journey for pilgrims and tourists alike.

Tatanagar - Brahmapur (South Eastern Railway): Inaugurating from Brahmapur, this service will further enhance connectivity between Jharkhand and Odisha, improving access for passengers traveling along this important industrial corridor.

Howrah - Dhanbad - Gaya (Eastern Railway): This route, with an inaugural departure from Gaya, will provide efficient travel between West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, linking major industrial and educational hubs.

Howrah - Dumka - Bhagalpur (Eastern Railway): The train, departing from Bhagalpur, will bolster connectivity between West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, passing through important educational and administrative centers.

Howrah - Tatanagar - Rourkela (South Eastern Railway): With the inaugural run departing from Rourkela, this route will cater to commuters traveling between West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha, supporting economic and industrial exchanges.

In addition to the inauguration of these express trains, the event will see the unveiling of several railway projects in Jharkhand, underscoring the government's commitment to improving regional infrastructure. These projects, which focus on enhancing rail connectivity and station modernization, are expected to bring about significant development in the region.

Following the Jharkhand-specific inaugurations, the Prime Minister will lead another round of railway modernization projects on September 16 from Ahmedabad. During this event, PM Modi is expected to inaugurate additional Vande Bharat trains across the country and mark the introduction of the first-ever Vande Metro service, which will operate between Bhuj and Ahmedabad. This service aims to offer metro-style short-distance travel, providing faster and more convenient commutes for people in Gujarat.

“The introduction of the Vande Bharat Express trains across Jharkhand and adjoining states is a testament to the government's broader vision of transforming India's railways into a world-class network. These semi-high-speed trains, equipped with modern amenities and designed for comfort, are expected to reduce travel time and offer a superior travel experience. By connecting cities like Patna, Deoghar, Brahmapur, Dhanbad, and Rourkela with major commercial and industrial hubs, these new routes will not only improve passenger connectivity but also stimulate economic activity in the region,” said a railway official.
