In a major announcement, 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian on Tuesday said that Plus-III and PG students in the State would receive ‘Nua-O’ scholarships soon.
Pandian was addressing a gathering at a ‘Nua-O’ event in Jajpur district.
As per the announcement, boys will get Rs 9,000 each while girls will receive Rs 10,000 each as scholarships every year.
The amount will be transferred to the bank accounts of the eligible students between February 20 and 25.
However, the students whose parents pay income tax or are permanent government employees will not be eligible for the scholarship.
Odisha is the first State in the country to launch such a scholarship scheme covering around 95 per cent of the students, said Pandian.
