The district transport office is making defectless  preparation for the vehicles to be requisitioned in the lok sabha election, voting of which is due on May 13.

Jitendra Kumar Yadav district transport officer said "We have shortlisted AC cars for the observers. There will come three observers - poll observer, security observer and expenditures observer."

Each of the observers will have a cavalcade of three vehicles, one of the observer, one other of security forces and finally of the protocol officer.

Yadav said "Palamu needs 1167 vehicles in all. It comprises 501 buses, 498 small vehicles and 168 trucks."

District transport officer further said "We get co-operation from the owners and the district transport association as well. There is no problem of any kind."

Yadav further added "The owners have given us relevant documents in regard to their motor vehicles and 872 vehicles have so far been notified as requisitioned by the administration."

Notified as requisitioned gives the vehicles an immunity to being detained at another place or by other agency till the purpose of election does not get over.

Hiring and detention rates will be applicable from the day these vehicles will be solely dedicated to the poll duties.

However in the 2009 lok sabha election fake On Election Duty notice was detected in a couple of vehicles here in Palamu which on verification was found forged and fabricated.
