A total of 9 projects comprising road, right of way, laying of optical fibre cable and setting up of 4G mobile towers in the Koderma wild life sanctuary and tiger reserve Palamu are hanging in balance for the wild life clearance.
Among the 9 projects, 8 alone are of the tiger reserve Palamu waiting for the wild life clearance.
If and when the state wild life board sits these 9 agendae are to be tabled before the chief minister for grant of the wild life clearance said the deputy director south division of the PTR Kumar Ashish.
Under Koderma wild life sanctuary project for widening of 2 lane national highway into 4 lane is awaiting wild life clearance since 2018.
The widening of 2 lane to 4 lane NH 31 is from Koderma to Medhatari involving little over 57 hectares of the sanctuary land / forest.
Under RoW (right of way) between Jharkhand's Bhandarya block and Chhatisgarh's Balrampur OFC (optical fibre cable) is to be laid.
This project is of the Bharti Airtel and involves 0.2394 hectares of forest land. It is pending since 2023 for the wild life clearance.
Wild life clearance is awaited for the Reliance Jio OFC between Chhipadohar to Mahuadanr and Garu to Vijaypur involving a total of 2.44 hectares of forest land.
A total of 6 projects for installing 4G mobile towers in the tiger reserve Palamu wait for wild life clearance. Two projects are of the optical fibre cabling in the tiger reserve Palamu.
Each of the 6 such 4G mobile towers involves 0.02 hectares of the tiger reserve land.
These six 4G mobile towers are proposed by the BSNL at Gopi Kharn, Kari Henar, Meral, Vijaypur, Kujrum and Kurum Kheta.
A BSNL official said "We wish we get wild life clearance for our 6 proposed sites for 4G mobile towers at the September 9 state wild life board meeting. We wish we cross this first hurdle."
Unfortunately the September 9 state wild life board meeting has been postponed. Deputy director south division of the PTR Kumar Ashish has confirmed the postponement.
