NHDC on Thursday has organized State Level painting competition on ‘Energy Conservation’ in collaboration with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) at Subhash Yadav Bhawan, New Market, Bhopal, in which the Chief Guest of the Program was Governor of the Madhya Pradesh Mangubhai Patel and Rajiv Jain, Managing Director of NHDC gave the First Prize of Rs 50,000, Second Prize of Rs 30,000, Third Prize of Rs 20,000 and 10 Consolation Prizes of Rs 7500 per winner for both the categories ‘A’ & ‘B’.
Besides, all the participants from across different parts of the Madhya Pradesh State were given Rs. 2000/- as participation amount. In this prize distribution ceremony, the Governor praised the efforts of NHDC for organizing this State Level Painting Competition for creating awareness about ‘energy conservation’ among students and also praised the children, their parents and school management for participating in painting competition and appealed to be aware of energy conservation in future also.
Rajiv Jain, Managing Director, NHDC said in his address that NHDC is making efforts to make the state self-reliant through energy conservation along with green energy generation.
He expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor for his gracious presence in the painting competition to encourage the school students.
In the first phase of this painting competition, schools from across Madhya Pradesh state had organized painting competitions at school level, out of which 02 best paintings in physical form from each category ‘A’ & ‘B’ were sent to NHDC, out of which 50-50 participants of each category ‘A’ & ‘B’ were called to Bhopal for the state level painting competition and a 2 hours on the spot painting competition was organized in Bhopal.
With the aim of spreading awareness about energy conservation among school students, the competition was organized in two categories - Category 'A' (for students of class 5th, 6th and 7th) and Category 'B' (for students of class 8th, 9th and 10th), in which 100 students were selected from various schools of the state had participated.
The topics for both the categories in this competition were 'Protect the Nature’s Gifts, Embrace Sustainable Shifts!' and 'You have the Power to Save Power'. During Prize distribution ceremony, the first prize in category 'A' was bagged by Mukul Joshi, student of class 7 of Army Public School, Mhow, Distt. Indore.
The second prize was bagged by Anushka Namdeo, student of class 6th of PM Shri KV, Dindori. The third prize was bagged by Abhiraj Ranjit, student of class 6th of Sri Satya Sai Vidya Vihar, Guna. Similarly, the first prize in category ‘B’ was bagged by Anismita Bose, student of class 8th of Atomic Energy Central School, Indore. The second prize was bagged by Mehul Jharbade, student of class 9th of Kamla Nehru Higher Secondary School, Bhopal. The third prize was bagged by Brahmi T Abbhani, student of class 9th of St Joseph Co-Ed School, Bhopal. In the next phase of this painting competition, the first, second and third winners of both the categories will get the opportunity to participate in the National Level Painting Competition as representatives of Madhya Pradesh state on December 11, 2024 in Delhi.

At present, 100% of the power generated from its two hydropower projects, Indira Sagar (1000 MW) & Omkareshwar (520 MW) and Sanchi Solar Project (08 MW) & Omkareshwar Solar Floating Project (88 MW) is being supplied to the state of Madhya Pradesh.
