New route to cause troubles for Auto/E-rickshaw drivers and public: Jaiswal

Sunday, 28 July 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Former president of Jharkhand Pradesh Professionals Congress and current state representative Aditya Vikram Jaiswal, today met with hundreds of auto and e-rickshaw drivers at OTC Ground near Pisca More on Ratu Road to understand the difficulties they will face due to the new route map.

During the meeting, the auto drivers expressed that the new route map would bring many challenges and other issues. They demanded new tempo stands and the continuation of the old permit system.

Jaiswal, after listening to the drivers, stated that they are highly agitated and distressed about the route map road permit system that the corporation is going to implement.

He pointed out another significant issue where, in the absence of tempo stands, contractors appointed by the corporation are collecting illegal tokens and even resorting to violence if the tokens are not paid. The drivers demanded that tokens should not be collected where there are no tempo stands as it severely affects their income. They requested the reimplementation of the previous system, which allowed auto or e-rickshaw operations within a 20-kilometer radius, to prevent the public from frequently changing autos and to allow them to book an auto for any destination.

Dr. Reema Khalkho, Anil Singh, Pappu Singh, Baneshwar Munda, and others were present on the occasion.
