NDMC to hold two days Tulip Festival from today

The New Delhi Municipal Council(NDMC) is organising 2nd Edition of its Tulip Festival this year from February 10-21 in the lawns of Shanti Path, Chanakyapuri here after the success and appreciation from the large public of different walks of life last year.

The Tulip festival will include a series of events like Tulip Walk to witness an exhibition on Tulips for the general public and flower lovers, Photo Competition for the actively engaged with the beauty of flowers and a Music Event for the music lovers in the background of flowers, officials said here on Friday.

 The Tulip Walk will be held on the Lawns of the Shantipath on Saturday. The NDMC is also organising a photography competition on the Tulip beautification and invites photography enthusiasts to click pictures of planted tulips and participate in the Photography Contest. The Rules and Regulation for the photography competition is available at NDMC website.

The NDMC will judge the three best pictures everyday and upload the three best photos of the day on its social media platforms. At the conclusion of the photography competition, the best judged photograph will be awarded.

 The NDMC will also organize Tulip Indo-Dutch Music event on February 16 to enhance the attraction around the Tulip Festival at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi in which Indo-Dutch artists will perform.

The concept of the music event is based on the Song of Water, Sea in the Music and Hear the Art.

 The NDMC is blooming with different varieties and colour of the 2 lakh Tulips sourced from Holland. The cultivation of Tulip Bulbs started in the mid December, 2023 at major parks and gardens, NDMC Headquarters, Windsor Place roundabout, the vicinity of the Vice President's Bungalow, 11 Murti, and significant stretches of Shanti Path underscoring NDMC's commitment to enhancing New Delhi's beauty, positivity, and overall experience.

The tulips are showcasing its beauty in eight distinct colors - white, yellow, red, pink, orange, purple, black and yellow-red transforming these spaces into captivating visual spectacles in the NDMC area.
