Nawab Colony residents attack BMC employees over petty dispute

Locals attacked employees of Bhopal Municipal Corporation team in Nawab Colony on Sunday over a dispute of removing the garbage collection vehicle.

The team had gone for door-to-door garbage collection, the driver and two other sanitation workers were also assaulted in the attack.

Nishatpura police have registered a case against the accused. Due to the assault, the employee sustained injuries in ribs and neck.

The driver of the door-to-door garbage collection vehicle, Aman, had gone to Nawab Colony on Sunday with his companions Meenabai and Rajesh. This area comes in Zone-17.

The accused person identified as Hajala alias Irshad brutally beat up driver Aman for not removing the vehicle. Due to this, he became unconscious. Companions Meenabai and Rajesh were also beaten up. Driver Aman was immediately admitted to Promise Hospital where he was told to have fractures in the neck and ribs.

After the assault on the employee, the door-to-door garbage collection vehicles were stopped. All the drivers and employees of Madhya Pradesh Government Driver Mechanical Employees Union warned that they would not work until a case was registered against the accused.

After this, the police also took immediate action and registered a case against the accused. After the case was registered, the employees returned to work.
