The farming landscape has significantly evolved, leaving traditional methods behind. Today, natural and advanced farming techniques are in high demand, offering substantial profits. Inspired by these benefits, farmer Puranlal adopted natural farming methods to cultivate bananas. He planted the G-9 variety, which was developed through tissue culture, on his field. This year, Puranlal generated an impressive Rs 4 lakh in revenue from banana sales alone, all from just one acre. Encouraged by this success, he has now transitioned all his fields to natural farming.

Adopts integrated farming

Puranlal Inwati, who became a banana trader from a farmer, lives in Bhumka village of Harai block of Chhindwara district. Apart from cultivating bananas through natural methods, Puran Lal is also growing brinjal, tomato and maize. He has also planted mango, jackfruit, amla, apple, plum, dragon fruit, lemon, orange and cashew plants in his field. Puranlal has installed drip irrigation system in his field. He is also producing manure from the residues of his crops through proper management. This manure is acting as nectar for his crops. This is also improving the quality of the soil of his field. Along with this, the fertility of the soil is also increasing.

Known as Chhindwara Banana

Puranlal says that the banana from his field has become famous in Jabalpur market by the name of "Chhindwara Ka Kela". While normal banana is sold at 15 to 18 rupees per kg, his banana grown through natural methods is being sold at the rate of 25 rupees per kg. He is getting good profit from this.

Increase in profit earned from cash crops

Apart from natural farming, Puranlal is also doing Kadaknath chicken farming, goat farming and fish farming business. Puranlal has adopted almost every method of farming. Puranlal has a total of 6 acres of agricultural land. By growing different types of fruits and vegetables and live cash crops in a coordinated manner, he is earning a profit of about 10 lakh rupees in a year. Other farmers of the area are very impressed with the progressiveness of Puranlal. They are also moving towards natural farming after obtaining advice from him.
