A 22-year-old youth was killed by slitting his throat at a forest near Transport Nagar under Bilkharia police station area, body was found on Monday two days after he left home for some work.
The body of the young man was found in the forest adjacent to Transport Nagar. The police received information about this on the evening of Monday.
According to the police, the throat of the young man has been slit, although it will be officially confirmed only after the autopsy report is received. The young man used to work as a laborer.
After the body was found police were informed by the locals and a team reached the spot. In the initial investigation the details of the deceased were searched and the deceased was identified as Supyar Shilpi who left home on Saturday.
After the postmortem the body has been handed over to the family. A case has been registered against unknown persons and the matter is being investigated. A broken vegetable cutting knife has also been found in the young man's hand.
Supyar's brother Manoj said that Supyar had left on Saturday night saying that he would return in an hour. Later the family received information about his death.
Police have started an investigation and would question friends and family members to reveal the reason behind the killing. It was not confirmed where Supyar had gone and with whom in the evening on Saturday.
The knife found in his hand would be investigated. The statements of the family members are yet to be recorded which might provide clues of murder.
