With the arrival of monsoon, the residents of Jharkhand finally have some much needed respite from the heat. The weather has been pleasant in many districts including the capital city- Ranchi as south west monsoon entered the State through Sabihganj and Pakur.

As per the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms is predicted at many places across the State in the next few days. On June 23, light to moderate rainfall is expected at some places in Jharkhand whereas on June 24 and June 25 most parts of Jharkhand is likely to witness light to rainfall showers.

The weathermen have also issued a yellow alert from June 23 to June 26 for gusty winds of speed up to 30- 40 km per hour for many places in the State. The communiqué also showed a yellow alert for June 25 and June 26 for parts of northeast Jharkhand that are expected to witness heavy rainfall.

“The entry of monsoon in the State has been confirmed and with all conditions favourable, monsoon clouds are likely to soon cover the entire state of Jharkhand. However, no major increase in the maximum temperature is being predicted over the next five days, there will be some respite from the humidity for the residents. Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur and Sabihganj may witness heavy showers on June 25 and June 26,” said an IMD official.

As per the bulletin shared, on June 22 the maximum temperature in the State was recorded at Daltonganj at 39.4 degree Celsius which is 3.8 degrees above normal. Jamshedpur was 1.1 degrees above normal at 36.1 degree Celsius whereas Ranchi was observed at 30.8 degree Celsius which is 1.1 notches below normal.
