Monsoon covers entire State, maximum rainfall recorded at 1.7 inches in Khajuraho

Monsoon rains continue across the state, Southwest monsoon covered the entire state on Thursday. Due to the strong system being active, it rained in many districts including Bhopal and Ujjain on Thursday.

The maximum rainfall of 1.7 inches was recorded in Khajuraho, while more than 1 inch was recorded in Dhar and Nowgong. Half an inch of water fell in Bhopal in an hour. Rains also occurred in Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Satna, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Pachmarhi, Raisen, Ratlam and Ujjain.

It also rained in Dhar on Thursday which provided much needed relief and only 1 degree difference was seen in the day and night temperature. The temperature in Dhar was 24.8 degrees at night, while the day temperature during the day on Thursday was 25.8 degree. Similar situation prevailed in Pachmarhi. The temperature here at night was 27 degrees, while 28.8 degrees was recorded during the day.

It rained heavily in Bhopal on Thursday evening. Bhopal received heavy rain on Thursday evening. Due to this, the day temperature was recorded at 33.5 degrees. Indore recorded 35.5 degrees, Gwalior 34.6 degrees, Jabalpur 36.7 degrees and Ujjain recorded 35.5 degrees. Bijawar in Chhatarpur recorded the highest temperature of 39.5 degrees, while Khajuraho, Umaria, Sidhi, Satna and Damoh recorded mercury above 38 degrees.

Monsoon entered 6 districts including Gwalior on Thursday. The Meteorological Department announced this. With the arrival of monsoon in Gwalior, Sheopurkalan, Bhind, Morena, Datia and Niwari districts, now monsoon has become active in all the areas of the state (except the northern parts of Sidhi and Singrauli).

Amid rain in Jabalpur, a part of the shed fell on the new building of Dumna Airport. A car parked here was damaged. The incident happened on Thursday morning at 11.30 am. The new building has been built at a cost of Rs 450 crore. PM Modi inaugurated it.

A spell of rain with thunder and lightning started in Bhopal. On Thursday, after a day of humidity, clouds covered the sky at around 4.30 pm, and it started raining at many places including MP Nagar, Katara Hills. Strong winds also blew during this time. There was also drizzle in the morning in some areas including Kolar. The day temperature on Thursday was recorded at 33.5 degrees.

Earlier, 44.6 mm i.e., 1.7 inches of water fell at night. Due to rain, the night temperature has dropped by 2.9 degrees and the mercury reached 23.8 degrees. Due to rain and storm, electricity was also cut off in many colonies at night.

The weather department has issued an alert of rain and thunderstorms for the next 3 days.

The average rainfall in the month of June in Bhopal is 132.8 mm i.e., 5.2 inches, whereas this month 9.1 inches of rain has already fallen. This time the monsoon entered Bhopal on June 23.

It has been raining since then. The normal date of arrival of monsoon in Bhopal is June 20. This time the monsoon has entered with a delay of 3 days.
