Gwalior-Chambal division will remain the coldest due to the effect of north-western winds. From November 15, fog will also increase in the morning and evening, these divisions are affected first by the winds.
At present, the temperature of 6 cities in the state has dropped below 15 degree celsius. Pachmarhi and Amarkantak remained the coldest. The temperature in Pachmarhi is 11.2 degrees Celsius.
The effect of cold may intensify from November 15. There will be a drop of 2 to 3 degree celsius in mercury. The weather will remain like this for a week. The mercury will remain above 30 degrees during the day while the mercury will remain between 12 to 20 degree celsius at night.
According to the Meteorological Department, Narmadapuram-Anuppur districts are the coldest right now. On Tuesday-Wednesday night, the mercury was 11.2 degrees in Pachmarhi and 13.1 degrees Celsius in Amarkantak. Mandla, Shajapur, Sehore and Shahdol are such districts where the mercury is below 15 degrees.
The mercury was recorded below 18 degrees Celsius in Bhopal, Naugaon, Chhindwara, Betul, Raisen, Rajgarh, Malajkhand, Umaria, Jabalpur, Tikamgarh, Seoni, Khandwa, Ujjain, Khargone, Rewa, Dhar, Khajuraho and Gwalior.
Pachmarhi is the coldest during the day as well as at night. On Wednesday, the day temperature here was recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Betul, Nowgong and Malajkhand was below 30 degrees while in the rest of the cities it was above it.
According to the Meteorological Department, after snowfall in North India, the entire Madhya Pradesh starts shivering. This time cold winds may come from the north in the second week of November, due to which the effect of cold will increase even more. This is the trend for the last 10 years.
