The court of Judicial Commissioner, Diwakar Pandey today sentenced the accused, Mukesh Lal Mahato to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 in the rape case. If the fine amount is not paid, there will be an additional 10 months of rigorous imprisonment.
Case number ST 299/2015, Kanke Police Station Case number 151/2014 was going on in the Court, Ranchi. The decision in this case was passed today by the court of Hon'ble Justice Commissioner, Diwakar Pandey.
It is known that in the said case, the accused was accused of having physical relations with the victim for 6-7 years by luring her with marriage. Later he refused to marry her. When the victim refused, the accused forcibly had sexual relations with the victim. During this time she also became pregnant twice in the years 2012 and 2014. The accused took her to Matru Chhaya Hospital, CMPD and also got the fetus in her womb aborted.
When the victim and her parents asked the accused and his parents to marry them, they clearly refused. The prosecution was successful in proving the charges against the accused.
The accused was represented by Advocate Sujay Dayal and the prosecution was represented by Public Prosecutor Anil Kumar Singh.
