AAP Rajya Sabha MP and former Chairperson of Delhi Commission of Women on Tuesday took a jibe at Delhi Water Minister Atishi after she was hospitalised due to her deteriorating health condition and said 'satyagraha is done with a pure heart'.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Maliwal, who accused Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar of assaulting her at AAP supremo's residence, stated, "Atishi, Gandhi had named the sacred method of fasting as Satyagraha. Satyagraha is always done with a true and pure heart."
Attacking the senior AAP leader, she said that the minister speaks lies about others. "I fasted twice. Once for 10 days and once for 13 days. After my fast, a law was made in the country that child rapists should be given the death penalty.
"The path of struggle is very difficult. The strength to go on a hunger strike is gained only by struggling on the ground for many years. Not by speaking lies and dirty things about others the whole day."
While wishing for her recovery, the MP said, "Well, I hope your health will improve soon and you will work for the people of Delhi." Atishi had to end her hunger strike on Tuesday after being admitted to the ICU as her blood sugar level fell to 36 mg/dl.
