With the number of counting rounds being lesser for the Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency, its result is likely to come faster as compared to the Mohanlalganj Lok Sabha constituency on June 4 when counting will be taken up.
Giving this information, a senior official from the district election office said that counting would start at 8 am at Ramabai grounds on June 4 and results would come between 3 pm and 4 pm.
He said that the training was imparted to 800 counting personnel on Wednesday at Jai Narain Degree College, including counting supervisors, counting assistants, micro observers and additional returning officers for both Lucknow and Mohanlalganj Lok Sabha constituencies.
He informed that for the Mohanlalganj Lok Sabha constituency, 42 rounds of counting will be held for Sarojini Nagar assembly segment, 35 rounds for Bakshi Ka Talab segment and 29 rounds each for Malihabad and Mohanlalganj assembly segments.
In Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency, the maximum counting rounds of 30 will be held for Lucknow West and Lucknow East assembly segments, 24 rounds for Lucknow Cantonment segment, 24 rounds for Lucknow Central assembly segment and 29 rounds for Lucknow North assembly segment.
There will be 14 tables in each room of the Ramabai grounds where the counting will be held and counting for 14 booths will take place at one time. For Sarojininagar, the Election Commission of India will set up 18 tables
“Arrangements are also being made for the counting of the postal ballots and the electrically transmitted postal ballot in a separate room,” the official added.
Security will be in place, he informed, “The outer two rings will have the state police and the inner ring immediately outside the counting rooms will be guarded by the CRPF. Water and food arrangements for the personnel on duty are also being looked into. Passes will also be issued for the candidates and the party agents who will be present for the voting,” he said.
He said that work had started on how the counting tables would be set up in the rooms at Ramabai grounds. “Arrangements for air-conditioners are also being made looking into the heat wave conditions prevailing in the city,” he added.
