Local traders protested and had a dispute with the municipal corporation staff who had reached to remove encroachment in Azad Market. They were pleading not to seize the carts and kiosks.

During this, they got infuriated. However, they agreed after the reprimand of the police. The police seized 6 truck loads of goods from Azad Market and Asharam Tiraha.

At 1.30 pm, the municipal corporation staff reached Azad Market in the old city to remove encroachment. Here, dry fruits, spices, fruit and vegetable carts were standing on the road. Temporary shops were also set up by pitching tents. As soon as the corporation staff reached here, there was a stir among the shopkeepers.

The action started near Mangalwara police station, which continued for about 200 meters. During this, 3 truck loads of goods were seized. These include tents, carts, thrones, dry fruits etc.

While removing encroachment in Azad Market, there was a mild clash between shopkeepers and corporation workers. Request to return dry fruits

During the action, many shopkeepers kept requesting encroachment in-charge Mahesh Gauhar to return the goods. A couple said that the staff also confiscated the dry fruits along with the cart. Gauhar assured to return the goods.

Two shopkeepers clashed with the staff. Both were asking for some time, but when the employees started lifting the goods, they started misbehaving. The policemen scolded them. Due to which they agreed.

Encroachment in-charge Mahesh Gauhar said, before Azad Market, action was taken to remove encroachment at Aasharam Tiraha as well. 3 trucks of goods were removed from here as well. More than 40 corporation workers were present during the action.
