Light showers witnessed in many parts of State

Light rain has changed the weather in many districts of Jharkhand. On Monday, the State Capital remained slightly cloudy throughout the day. This made the weather warm. After evening, people got relief from the heat due to cold winds in Ranchi.

At the same time, light rain in some places in Ramgarh, Gumla, Latehar, Lohardaga, Bokaro made the weather pleasant. There was severe heat wave in some places in Garhwa, Palamu and Ramgarh districts of the State. Daltonganj was the hottest in Jharkhand with 46.0 degrees Celsius. In the last 24 hours, an increase in temperature was recorded in 18 districts.

The Meteorological Department forecast that there is a possibility of light rain with thunder from June 18 to June 23, due to which the maximum temperature in the state may fall by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius during the next 3 days. The Meteorological Department also informed that there is a possibility of wind blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra and Latehar in Jharkhand on June 18, for which a yellow alert has been issued.

At the same time, there is a possibility of thunderstorms with winds of 40-50 km per hour in the remaining districts. During this time, light to moderate rainfall with thunder is likely at some places. At the same time, an orange alert has been issued in all the districts of the State from June 19 to June 23 regarding the possibility of thunderstorms with thunder and strong winds with maximum speed 40-50 km per hour. There is a strong possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunder at many places in the State.

The Meteorological Department informed that there is a possibility of a heat wave at some places in the northwestern and adjacent northern parts of the State. In this regard, a yellow alert has been issued in Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, Chatra, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Giridih, Dhanbad, Deoghar and Jamtara.

In the last 24 hours, light rainfall with thunderstorms occurred at some places in the State. The highest rainfall of 6.1 mm was recorded in Palamu. Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions were also recorded at some places in the State. The highest maximum temperature of 44.5 degree Celsius was recorded in Daltonganj, while the lowest minimum temperature of 26.1 degree Celsius was recorded in Bokaro Thermal.
