Throughout his illustrious career, Sharma served in various significant roles, including Chief Minister of Bhopal State (1952-1956), Cabinet Minister in the Madhya Pradesh Government (1956-1971), and Union Communications Minister (1974-1977). He was also elected to the Lok Sabha twice and served as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, and Maharashtra.
