At a spirited public meeting in Ulidih Mango, Kalpana Soren, often referred to as the “lioness of Jharkhand,” energized the crowd with a powerful call to action, urging them to support Banna Gupta, the India Alliance candidate from Jamshedpur West. Emphasizing the continued struggle for tribal identity even after the creation of Jharkhand, she highlighted the importance of a unified fight for rights under the leadership of Hemant Soren.
In her address, Kalpana Soren criticized the central government for allegedly targeting Hemant Soren over the implementation of the Maiya Samman Yojana, a scheme aimed at supporting Jharkhand’s women. "The central government is afraid of Hemant Soren’s dedication to Jharkhand’s mothers and sisters and responds by attempting to silence him," she said. She accused the opposition of trying to divide the community, while commending the India Alliance for its efforts to unite the state.
Highlighting the coalition government’s accomplishments, Kalpana Soren noted that 55 lakh women have received benefits from the Maiya Samman Yojana. "Hemant Soren is working for half the population, ensuring that our women, our water, forest, and land are protected," she asserted. She urged the crowd to vote for Banna Gupta by selecting the paw symbol, emphasizing that it represents the realization of the dreams of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren. She also addressed a gathering in support of Jamshedpur East Assembly candidate Ajoy Kumar.
Banna Gupta also addressed the gathering, accusing the opposition of misleading voters. “Those who once opposed the BJP’s lotus symbol now try to disguise it as a gas cylinder. The public is aware of their deception,” he said. Gupta praised the Hemant Soren government as one that values and respects the mothers and sisters of Jharkhand, positioning it as a compassionate administration working to uplift every family.
Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, joined the rally in support of Gupta, commending the coalition government’s work over the past five years. He claimed that the central government has tried to stifle Hemant Soren’s progress by sending him to jail, but that Kalpana Soren has continued the fight with unwavering strength. Yadav urged the people to vote for a government that stands for the rights of the poor and marginalized.
