Tuesday, 11 March 2025 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in the Amritasya Maa Narmada Pad Parikrama program organized at Brahmapuri Ghat in Omkareshwar on Sunday. He offered prayers to Maa Narmada at Brahmapuri Ghat and emphasized the cultural and spiritual significance of the event. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that a grand Jyotirlinga temple will be constructed in Omkareshwar, enhancing the religious and historical importance of the site. Additionally, he declared that after March, liquor shops would be closed at identified pilgrimage sites, reinforcing the sanctity of these locations. While highlighting the significance of water, the Chief Minister stated that water is essential for life. He remarked that the sight of water bodies like rivers and ponds brings joy to the mind. Comparing water bodies to the human circulatory system, he emphasized that just as blood flows through arteries in the human body, rivers flow on the earth, making it imperative to keep them clean and pure.

Yadav reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring the entire Parikrama Path of Maa Narmada to its original, sacred form. He emphasized that enhanced facilities would be provided for Narmada Parikrama pilgrims, including the construction of ghats at various Narmada banks across the state for religious events and the installation of signboards for the convenience of pilgrims. Yadav highlighted that Madhya Pradesh, known as the motherland of rivers, holds Maa Narmada in a special place among all its rivers. He reiterated the government’s dedication to promoting religious tourism and ensuring that development efforts align with cleanliness initiatives to elevate the state’s progress.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that while chemical farming increases crop yields, it also contributes to various health issues. To address this, a campaign will be launched to promote safer alternatives. He emphasized that farmers practicing natural and organic farming will be encouraged and supported by the government. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also highlighted the importance of cattle rearing, stating that increasing milk production requires nurturing cows, which will not only boost dairy output but also enhance farmers’ incomes. Additionally, he announced that tribal festivals will be celebrated at the government level.

Chief Minister Yadav offered Jalabhishek after visiting Omkareshwar Jyotirling Mahadev. He prayed to Omkareshwar Mahadev for the prosperity, development, and well-being of the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reached the sacred site via the footbridge to pay his respects. On this occasion, the Trustee of the Omkareshwar Jyotirling Trust, Rao Devendra Singh Chauhan, along with other trustees, presented a replica of Omkareshwar Jyotirling to the Chief Minister as a symbolic gesture. As part of the visit, the Chief Minister also distributed baskets of fruits to the kanyas and batuks, sat with them, and shared a meal.

Revered Gurudev Vivek Ji, Mahant Mangaldas Ji Tyagi of Jod Ganpati Hanuman Temple Omkareshwar, Mahant Kailash Bharti of Mahanirvani Akhara Omkareshwar, Mahant Pranvanand Ji Saraswati of Markandeya Sanyas Ashram Omkareshwar and Pujya Brahmachari Ji Maharaj of Nijanand Dham Khachrod, Khandwa MLA Kanchan Tanve, Pandhana MLA Chhaya More, Mandhata MLA Narayan Patel, along with other public representatives and officials, were present in the programme.
