JMMSY to be milestone in empowering women of Jharkhand: CM

Friday, 23 August 2024 | PNS

Our society and state will progress only when the tribals, Dalits, poor, deprived, labourers, farmers and women are empowered. A strong Jharkhand can be built only by taking all of them together. This is the reason why our government is constantly working to empower them. In this series, Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana has been started in the direction of giving dignity, respect and rights to women. This scheme dedicated to Nari Shakti will prove to be very helpful for the sisters and daughters of this state to move forward, said Chief Minister Hemant Soren while addressing the divisional level program of Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana organized at Chianki Airport Complex in Medininagar (Palamu) on Thursday.

The CM said that our government is not running from Ranchi Headquarters but from the villages. Our state will become strong only when our villages are strong. With this resolve, we are strengthening the rural economy through various development and public welfare schemes. He said that in the last 20 years, in the villages where BDO, CO and Police Inspector did not go, today officers are reaching there with force. They are not only listening to the problems of the people with sensitivity, but also solving them. Today, the welfare schemes of the state government are reaching every home.

The CM said that today there is no old person in the state without pension. Now the elderly do not need to wander here and there for pension. As soon as the prescribed age for pension is reached, the elderly are being directly linked to the pension scheme. He said that in view of the poverty in the state, our government is now providing pension to those above 50 years of age under the Universal Pension Scheme.

The CM said that girls will no longer become a burden on the family. These girls will become doctors, engineers and officers and will bring glory to themselves, their family, society and the state. For this, the state government is taking the responsibility of the education of girls. Girls should not leave their studies due to lack of money, they are being given the benefit of Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana. At the same time, the state government is providing financial assistance for the preparation of various courses like medical, engineering, law and mass communication and competitive examinations. Under the Guruji Credit Card Scheme, the government is giving education loan up to Rs 15 lakh for higher education on its guarantee.

The CM said that our government has taken concrete steps towards strengthening the Sakhi Mandals of JSLPS. More than Rs 10 thousand crores have been distributed among the Sakhi Mandals, so that lakhs of women associated with them become self-reliant and set an example for the society.

The CM said that the government is making efforts to provide employment to the youth of the state through various means. Appointments have been made on thousands of government posts, while the appointment process for many posts is going on at a fast pace. Thousands of youth will get jobs very soon through Jharkhand Police and Jharkhand Excise Sipahi Competition Examination. Our effort is to make the youth stand on their own feet.

In the program organized for Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana, the CM took another step towards women empowerment by transferring the honour amount through DBT to the bank accounts of 5 lakh 91 thousand 919 beneficiaries.

These include 2 lakh 88 thousand 521 beneficiaries from Palamu district, 1 lakh 17 thousand 605 from Latehar district and 2 lakh 19 thousand 320 beneficiaries from Garhwa district.

Ministers Satyanand Bhokta, Baidyanath Ram, Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, Baby Devi and Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, MLA Ramchandra Singh, Garhwa District Council President Shanti Devi, Secretary of Women, Child Development and Social Security Department Manoj Kumar, Commissioner and DIG of Police of Palamu Division, DCs and SPs of Palamu, Garhwa and Latehar districts and other officials were present in this programme.
