The Jharkhand government has launched the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana (JMMSY) to empower women. The scheme aims to include 552,351 women across the district. Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav emphasized the plan's importance during a workshop held at the Collectorate Auditorium on Tuesday. She announced that camps would be set up from August 3 to 10 at all panchayat secretariats and urban ward offices to facilitate the application process.
The scheme provides Rs. 1,000 per month to women aged 21 to 50 years, credited to their bank accounts by the 15th of each month. This initiative aims to address issues like health, nutrition, education, and economic backwardness among women in Jharkhand.
Eligibility criteria include being a resident of Jharkhand, having an Aadhaar-linked bank account, and possessing a voter ID card. Women or their husbands employed by the government or public sector, or those receiving pensions, are excluded from the scheme. The application forms are free and will be distributed through Anganwadi workers in rural areas and urban representatives in city areas.
The government has set specific targets for different blocks to ensure the scheme's reach, and all necessary measures for awareness and application submission have been put in place.
