World Milk Day was celebrated on Saturday in the premises of Medha Dairy's Hotwar plant under the joint aegis of Jharkhand State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (JMF) and Eastern Zone and Jharkhand Chapter of Indian Dairy Association (IDA).

The program was presided over by IDA-Jharkhand Chapter Chairman cum General Manager JMF, Pawan Kumar Marwaha and IDA-Jharkhand Chapter Vice President cum Deputy Managing Director JMF, Jaydev Biswas. This time the theme of World Milk Day was "Request to keep plant-based products in a separate category in the interest of dairy farmers".

In his address, Marwaha explained the importance of dairy from the point of view of nutrition and employment in today's context. He appealed to the farmers of Jharkhand to join the milk related business and especially Medha Dairy.

Jaydev Biswas congratulated the JMF personnel present, highlighting the importance of cooperation in the White Revolution and assured everyone that today JMF is moving in the right direction of development. Biswas explained the purpose behind celebrating World Milk Day on June 1 as providing an opportunity to focus on milk and raise awareness about healthy diet, responsible food production and the role of dairy in supporting livelihoods and communities.

On this occasion, Pramod Kumar, Head of Quality and Assurance, JMF, explained how milk fulfills all our basic nutritional needs and there is no alternative to it in today's era.

On this occasion, a wreath was placed on the statue of the late Dr. Verghese Kurien, the father of the White Revolution, and he was remembered. Today, on the occasion of World Milk Day, a quiz competition and other programs were organized among the JMF personnel.
