Jharkhand stares at weak monsoon, 47% rain deficit till now

Monsoon has weakened in Jharkhand. Due to lack of rain in different parts of the State including the State Capital, heat and humidity have increased. There is no possibility of rain till July 13.

This time the state has received much less rain than expected. In such a situation, the crisis in agriculture in the State has deepened. Ranchi has received 138.5 mm of rain so far, while the normal rainfall figure is 263 mm. A decline of 47 per cent has been recorded in this.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of heavy rain in the state till July 13. During this time, most parts of the state will remain cloudy. At the same time, it may rain once or twice a day.

The sky will remain cloudy in the capital Ranchi till July 13 and there is a strong possibility of light and moderate rainfall. During the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 74.2 mm was recorded in Khunti Rania. 68 mm of rain was recorded in Masanjore and Jamtara. At the same time, sporadic rain was seen in Chatra, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Garhwa, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, Ramgarh, Ranchi.

Among the districts of the State where monsoon has been the weakest, Pakur is at the forefront, where there has been 72 percent less rain than normal. After this, Saraikela-Kharsawan, where there has been 69 percent less rain. After this, Lohardaga where there has been 63 percent less rain. Similarly, less than normal rain has been recorded in 24 districts of the State. So far, 129.3 mm of rain has occurred in Jharkhand, which is 49 percent less than normal. By now, 255.3 percent rain should have occurred in the State.
