The Jharkhand Kabaddi Association convened its general assembly and elections on Sunday at the New Kalyan Mandap in Bokaro. Under the supervision of election officials including District Judge Sushil Kumar Jha, Assistant Election Officer Judge Vijay Bahadur Singh, and Assistant Election Officer Advocate Shah Mohammad, the elections were successfully conducted.
In these elections, the mantle of leadership was passed onto former national players who now shoulder the responsibility of the association. Gopal Kumar Thakur, a former national player, was elected as the President, while another former national player, Mukesh Kumar Singh, was chosen as the Secretary. Rakhi Kumari, also a former national player, was elected as the Treasurer.
The newly elected President, Gopal Kumar Thakur, expressed his commitment to fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to the Jharkhand Kabaddi Association. He emphasized the rapid proliferation of kabaddi in Jharkhand and pledged to elevate its development to new heights.
The newly formed executive committee comprises experienced individuals, including President Gopal Kumar Thakur, Vice Presidents Meera Mishra, Dharmendra Kumar Singh, and Jawahar Kumar Singh, Secretary Mukesh Kumar Singh, Treasurer Rakhi Kumari, Joint Secretaries Bhupendra Singh and Shankar Choudhary, and Executive Committee Members Prakashit Meji, Asha Kumari, Upendra Kumar, Ravi Thakur, and Nirbhay Kumar, all of whom are former national players, reflecting a wealth of expertise and dedication to lead the Jharkhand Kabaddi Association forward.
