Jewellery shop robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight

A jeweller's shop was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday afternoon in Bajra located on Itki Road in Pandra OP area where the criminals who came on a bike carried out the robbery at Panchvati Jewelers shop at gunpoint in broad daylight.

The criminals fled with jewellery and cash kept in the shop. After getting information about the incident, police officials reached the spot and are investigating the matter.

On Thursday afternoon, two armed criminals suddenly reached Panchvati Jewellers and took the shopkeeper into their custody and fled after looting jewellery worth lakhs. The criminals were armed. The criminals took the shop owner into their custody and fled after looting whatever jewellery was seen in the shop. According to the jeweller, jewellery worth lakhs has been looted, it will be known only after matching the stock how much jewellery the criminals took.

Expressing concern over the criminals escaping after committing robbery in New Panchvati Jewellers establishment, Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCC) expressed displeasure over the law and order situation in the city.

FJCCI General Secretary Paresh Gattani and Executive Member Sanjay Akhouri visited the spot and met the establishment's director Deepak Kumar Sahu and his grandmother Asha Devi to know about the matter. On the spot, after talking to the Superintendent of Police, the immediate arrest of the criminals involved in the incident and recovery of the goods was requested. The Superintendent of Police informed that sufficient evidence has been collected from the spot and soon the criminals will be in the custody of the police.

FJCCI President Kishore Mantri said that Ranchi is the mirror of the entire State and incidents are happening here every day. “Incidents like sudden theft, snatching, murder, extortion are increasing in Ranchi. Businessmen and entrepreneur society are worried due to these incidents. The district administration needs to take concrete initiatives regarding crime control so that business and industry can be run in a fear-free environment,” he added.
