With extreme heat, thundery activities, heat waves, hot nights and abrupt spells of rainfall there is no relief from the harsh weather conditions in the state.

The day temperatures have dipped marginally but in vain as winds blowing are hot even in the nights.

The intense weather conditions are nearing an unbearable stage with the state witnessing around 48 degree celsius in the season. 

State capital got little respite after mercury dipped near to 42 degree celsius during the day.

On the eighth day of Nautapa, Saturday, there is intense heat. An elderly man died due to heat in Orchha of Niwari. At the same time, a transformer caught fire in Morena.

In Ratlam, water was sprinkled on the trees for the birds. It suddenly started raining in Shivpuri in the afternoon. In Khandwa and Khajuraho also, the weather changed after noon and it rained heavily. At the same time, after seven in the evening, a period of rain started in Bhopal, Gwalior and Sehore.

The Meteorological Department had issued a heat wave alert in 16 districts including Gwalior-Datia. At the same time, it was predicted that there would be thunderstorms and drizzle in some districts.

Earlier on Friday, there was the effect of severe heat and heat waves. The highest temperature was 47.1 degrees in Bijawar of Chhatarpur. At the same time, the temperature was recorded at 47 degrees in Shivpuri and 46.7 degrees Celsius in Prithvipur of Niwari, while the mercury was more than 45 degrees in 11 cities.

Khajuraho, Datia, Singrauli, Naugaon, Sidhi, Gwalior and Satna were also included in the top-10 cities of the state with the highest temperature on Friday. Khajuraho recorded 46.5 degrees, Datia 46.4 degrees, Singrauli 46.3 degrees, Nowgong 46 degrees, Sidhi 45.8 degrees, Gwalior 45.7 degrees and Satna recorded 45.2 degrees. Heat waves also hit these districts.

The weather changed in Khajuraho on the eighth day of Nautapa. Clouds covered the sky amidst the scorching heat. It started raining with strong winds.

The weather changed in Khandwa on Saturday afternoon and it started raining heavily. This brought down the temperature a little.

An elderly man died due to severe heat in Orchha of Niwari district. A man was found lying unconscious in the Phoolbagh premises on Saturday morning. The police reached the spot on receiving the information and took him to the hospital. The doctors declared him dead. They said that he died due to heat and heat waves. He has been identified as Man Singh Khatik (60) of Jhansi. He was living in a rented house here for a year and earning his living by begging in the temple premises.

It started raining on Saturday afternoon in Shivpuri amid the scorching heat. Shivpuri remains in the top 10 hottest cities of Madhya Pradesh. On Friday, a temperature of 47 degrees was recorded here.

On the eighth day of Nautapa in Raisen, winds and clouds have caused a drop in the day temperature. The temperature has dropped by two degrees compared to the past days. The temperature at 2 pm on Saturday was 41 degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, a light dust storm may occur in Morena, Sheopur Kalan, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Sagar, Vidisha, Raisen, Mauganj, Sidhi, Singrauli and Panna in the afternoon. At the same time, there is also a possibility of lightning.

Clouds have been looming over Sagar since morning. Sunshine and shade continue amidst the clouds. The winds are hot. The temperature of Sagar was around 40 degrees at 1 pm.
