On this occasion, she advised women journalists to emphasize on human values of journalism.
IPS officer Sarojini Lakra, who was present as a special guest in the programme, introduced the women to the untouched aspects of her life and advised them to fight their battle strongly on every front. She told how while holding senior positions in the police, he fulfilled his family, social and professional responsibilities very well.
Senior High Court advocate Richa Sanchita, who participated in the program as a special guest, said that women have to be empowered. She said that when she started practicing in the High Court, at that time there were 15-20 women advocates, whereas today there are more than 500. She said that we have to prepare our own position. Special guest in the program, Dr. Mrinalini said that the enemy of women is women themselves. She said that when she came out of the labour room, she came to know that mother and mother-in-law were standing outside. The mother asks how the daughter is and the mother-in-law asks about the grandson. She said that times have changed very rapidly, but still a lot needs to be done for the respect of women.
On this occasion, women journalists working in the capital including senior women journalists Anupama Singh, Sheela Kumari and Rajneesh were honoured by the Press Club by giving them saplings and mementos.
The three-day Basant Mela, organized for the first time at the Press Club on Women's Day, was inaugurated by the guests. There are a total of 32 stalls in the fair, which include different stalls of electronic goods, clothes, spectacles, jewellery, paintings, toys and food.
