A function was held at Raj Bhavan to mark the national festival of Independence Day. Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and other invited guests exchanged Independence Day greetings during the event.
Chief Minister Yadav paid a courtesy visit to Governor Patel at Raj Bhawan before the Independence Day celebrations. The Chief Minister greeted the Governor by presenting a bouquet.
Patel appreciated the Army Band Pachmarhi for its wonderful performance at the welcome ceremony. Band leader Major D. Prabhakaran was given a trophy, medals and certificates for each member of the band.
The audience at the Independence Day function at Raj Bhavan, Bhopal, was captivated by the sweet melodies performed by the Army Band from Pachmarhi. This impressive performance seamlessly blended patriotic tunes with Indian classical music, ragas, and Western music. Renowned for its remarkable performances, the Army Band Pachmarhi has showcased its talents in countries such as Sudan, Chile, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal. The band features a total of 60 artists who collaborate in three sections: woodwind, brass, and percussion. These sections work in harmony to create the band's signature sound. The woodwind section includes instruments like the flute, piccola, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and bassoon. The brass section features horns, cornets, trumpets, trombones, euphoniums, and tubas. The percussion section brings together a diverse range of instruments, including the glockenspiel, xylophone, vibraphone, chimes, drums, timpani, and more, all working in unison to produce enchanting melodies.
An exhibition showcasing portraits of unsung freedom fighters, brave women, and heroes was held during the ceremony. The event was organized by the Culture Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government in collaboration with the Swaraj Sansthan Directorate.
