Improved water supply and electricity soon, Saryu leads crucial meeting

Friday, 14 June 2024 | PNS | Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy convened a crucial meeting with Tata Steel UISL (formerly Jusco) General Manager RK Singh on Thursday at the Tata Steel UISL General Manager's office. The meeting, which lasted for about two hours, focused on significant infrastructure topics such as road construction, drainage, water supply, and electricity provision in various settlements.

During the meeting, it was decided that forms for drinking water connections would be distributed in Bhuiyadih and Nandnagar areas in July, and in Lalbhatta and Babudih from the last week of July. Additionally, forms for water connections will be distributed in Jojobeda Basti, Neelkanth Apartment, and other apartments starting from July 15.

The meeting also concluded that residents of Mahanand Basti, Manifit, and surrounding areas would soon be able to access drinking water connections, with Jusco ready to supply the water.

The talks revealed that the construction of a sub-station near the de-addiction center in Bagunhatu has commenced and is expected to be completed within two months. Following this, network laying in the settlements and house connections will begin.

In other areas, work has started on laying cables to provide electricity in Moharda, Murakati, and Aastha. A site near Telco Sewage Plant, close to Ramni Kali Temple, has been selected for a substation construction for the Moharda area, pending a No Objection Certificate from Tata Motors.

The meeting reached a consensus on the renovation, paving, and cleaning of major drains in the area and those extending from settlements. It was decided that roads and drains would be constructed in Manifit, Burmamines, Sidgora, Shiv Singh Garden, Kashidih, and Sakchi garden areas.

A decision was made to construct a park on the vacant plot near Golmuri, Vijayanagar Temple. Furthermore, work on Moharda, Phase 2 will commence soon, with plans to lay about 6 km of pipelines in the remaining areas of Phase 1. In Phase 2, a water tank will be constructed at the foot of Bhuvaneshwari temple to ensure water supply to houses at higher altitudes.

Roy proposed that Tata Steel UISL undertake the cleaning of the entire city, a proposal that the General Manager accepted. Emphasizing the need for pure drinking water, MLA Roy suggested laying a new pipeline from Chandil to Mango via Dimna Dam to supply pure drinking water to the entire city, including the Moharda water supply area. The General Manager assured a positive initiative on this proposal.

The meeting was attended by MLA Saryu Roy's personal secretary Sudhir Singh, Sanjeev Jha of Tata Steel UISL, NK Panda, Harpreet Singh, and Nirmal Kumar, among others.
