Immediate presence of witnesses should be ensured in POCSO and other cases: PDJ

A district level meeting was held on various subjects in the PDJ office room on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge of Civil Court Lohardaga, Arvind Kumar Pandey. In which the appropriate Doctor Baghmare Prasad Krishna, Superintendent of Police Harish Bin Jama, District Judge First Akhilesh Kumar Tiwari, CGM Krishnakant Mishra, Dalsa Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Civil Court Registrar Amit Kumar Gupta, Civil Surgeon Rajmohan Khalko, Executive Engineer of Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Bhawan Executive Engineer of the Construction Department, Government Pleader, Public Prosecutor, District Social Welfare Board members, Jailer of Mandal Jail and others were present. This meeting was called in the light of various guidelines given by the District Level Monitoring Committee, Victim Compensation Committee, and the Honorable High Court. 

In this meeting, the immediate presence of witnesses, especially doctors and researchers, in other cases including the POCSO case was discussed. A plan was prepared for the early construction of the newly constructed court building. It was decided to allot a compensation of Rs 7 lakh to one victim as victim compensation by the Victim Compensation Committee. The problems of the Child Welfare Committee were heard. In the light of the judgment passed by Jharkhand High Court, it was decided to organize publicity and competition against drug abuse in schools and colleges under the joint aegis of Sadar Hospital Lohardaga and District Legal Services Authority Lohardaga. Outlines were prepared for the work of the Empowered Committee constituted by the government to pay fines on behalf of the poor jail prisoners who are unable to pay their fines.
