Construction of houses for 8 lakh 25 thousand needy beneficiaries has been completed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban in Madhya Pradesh so far. In the first phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 9 lakh 45 thousand houses have been approved in the state.

Madhya Pradesh has remained at the leading position in the country during the entire period of implementation of the first phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban. Many urban bodies of Madhya Pradesh and the state have also received awards at the national level for effective implementation of the scheme.

The credit for the effective implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban in the first phase goes to the many innovations made by the state government to provide housing at minimum rates. A total amount of Rs 23 thousand 600 crore including central share and state share grant of Rs 19 thousand 700 crore for the construction of sanctioned houses and Rs 3 thousand 900 crore as interest subsidy for the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) component has been approved. Rs 22 thousand 800 crore has been released to the beneficiaries so far.

The Urban Development and Housing Department has launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0. The benefit of this scheme will be given to those beneficiaries who have not received the benefit of the housing scheme due to some reason. Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has given instructions to the field staff of the department for the effective implementation of the scheme. For wide publicity of the scheme, the Central Government has also uploaded the information on the Unified Web Portal. There are 4 types of components in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0. Therefore, beneficiaries can select the component as per their eligibility and requirements while applying.
