A labourer got trapped after an old building collapsed in MP Nagar on Tuesday afternoon he was rescued safely from the debris.
The building owner was getting it demolished. The work was going on for several days. Today, 3 laborers were working during the accident and all are safe.
MP Nagar police station in-charge Jai Hind Sharma said that no one was injured in the accident. The incident took place at plot number 85 of zone 2 of MP Nagar. It is near Hakim Restaurant. Locals said that the good thing was that there was no one around the building. The laborer who was rescued from the debris has suffered a minor injury in his leg.
The building is owned by Rajesh Pardarshani. The house was built 30 years ago and was demolished to build a new house.
Zone in-charge Shailesh Chauhan said that some workers were demolishing the rear portion, when the portion started breaking. Some bricks hit the worker in the front portion. He got injured due to this.
Injured worker Mangal Singh said that when the accident happened, he was working on the first floor. Some other workers were also present there during the incident, but they all managed to get out safely. A total of three floors were being demolished at the construction site, out of which the roofs of the remaining floors had already been demolished.
