The spell of heavy rainfall continued on Sunday, there was a red alert in Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Ratlam, Jhabua, Dhar, Alirajpur, Barwani and Khargone. There is a flood situation in many districts including Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Raisen, Vidisha, Agar Malwa, Tikamgarh.
Sluice gates of most of the dams in the state have been opened. Flood water in the rivers is flowing over the bridges. Road and rail traffic was disrupted.
Despite this, some bus and vehicle drivers crossed the rivers risking the lives of people. At the same time, waterlogging has occurred in residential areas of some districts including Bhopal and Raisen.

Bhopal has received the highest rainfall for the fifth time in the last 10 years. Earlier, 74 inches of rain fell in the year 2022. Bhopal has received 39.2 inches of rain so far, 4 inches of rainfall was recorded in the night, while 4.5 inches of rainfall was recorded in the past 24 hours.
The normal rainfall of Bhopal is 37.6 inches. According to this, 1.6 inches more rainfall has been recorded. Now whatever rain happens in Bhopal will be a bonus. According to the information, three out of 11 sluice gates of Bhadbhada Dam were opened on Sunday morning. First one gate was opened at 6.45 am and the second at 8.15 am and the third gate at around 1:30 pm. Two gates were also opened on Saturday, but were closed in the afternoon. At the same time, water is being released from 6 out of 13 gates of Kaliyasot Dam and 4 gates of Kerwa Dam. Water is also flowing into Kolar Dam near Bhopal.

The district administration had to run boats when there was waterlogging in Khejra Baramada of Bhopal. More than 50 families are stuck in their homes due to waterlogging. Govindpura SDM Ravishkumar Srivastava along with police officials took stock of the situation by sitting in a boat.
Srivastava said that there is waterlogging in the area. Due to this, boats were used to reach the people. At present, no one has been rescued. People have said that they will stay safe in their homes when the water level is low. Complete arrangements have been made in case of need for shifting.
Due to heavy rains, a many years old tree uprooted near Ambedkar Nagar in Bhopal. The roots of the tree had become weak due to rain. Traffic was also affected due to the tree falling in the middle of the road.
Meanwhile, power disruption was reported in more than 50 areas at night, due to which the difficulties of the people kept increasing. This situation was seen in many areas including Tulsi Nagar.
Due to heavy rains, the sluice gates of Kaliyasot, Bhadbhada and Kerwa Dams of Bhopal have been opened. At the same time, good water also came into Kolar Dam near Bhopal.
This season, the gates of Kerwa-Bhadbhada dam have been opened three times, Kaliyasot four times. The gates of Kolar dam have been opened only once in the season.
