A slight improvement in the health is observed of Tigress-40, who was brought to Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal from Kanha Tiger Reserve. Due to illness she had stopped taking food. After this she was brought to Van Vihar. Currently she is undergoing treatment at the rescue centre.
According to Van Vihar management, the tigress was brought from Kanha to Van Vihar on November 5. She has been ill since December 16. Health checkup found that its kidneys were not functioning properly. Due to which creatinine and blood urea levels had increased significantly. She had also stopped taking food. The tigress is being kept under constant close observation and is being treated by wildlife doctor Van Vihar Dr. Atul Gupta.
Dr. Kajal Jadhav, assistant professor of State Wildlife Forensic Health, Jabalpur, and Dr. Rajesh Tomar, wildlife doctor of Mukundpur Zoo, were also consulted regarding the tigress. The tigress was given continuous fluid therapy and necessary treatment was done. His blood sample is being taken again every eighth day.
As of today, the health of the said tigress has improved. His creatinine level has reduced significantly and he has also started eating regular food. Van Vihar Director Padmapriya Balakrishnan said, the tigress's activities are being monitored and continuous treatment is being done.
