Final farewell was paid with full respect by the Police Band to 73-year-old Girish Yadav whose organs were donated after he was declared brain dead on Thursday at Bansal hospital of the state capital.
Two green corridors were formed in Bhopal on Friday, both the corridors were formed from Bansal Hospital. One corridor was made from Bansal to AIIMS, the other from Bansal to Indore. During this, some major roads of the capital Bhopal came to a standstill for a while.
The traffic police did not divert any route for both the green corridors. The ambulance was given way only by halting the traffic for a while on the roads through which the ambulance had to pass.
One kidney was sent to AIIMS from Bansal Hospital in Bhopal and the liver was sent to Choithram Hospital in Indore. The second kidney will be transplanted in Bansal Hospital itself.
Two eyes were donated to Gandhi Medical College. Kidney transplant was done in Bansal and AIIMS on Friday evening. The liver could be transplanted late at night in Choithram Hospital in Indore.
The body of the donor was given a final farewell with full respect by taking out a funeral procession with a police band in the hospital. The family was also honored for taking the decision to donate the organs.
Budhni resident Girish Yadav (age 73 years) died during treatment and his family decided to donate his organs.
He had a brain stroke a few days ago and was admitted to Bansal Hospital. On Thursday, the doctors declared the patient brain dead. Girish Yadav's elder son Vinay Yadav, on the advice of doctors, decided to donate the organs from his father's body.
Girish Kumar Yadav's son Vinay said hsi father Girish Yadav was an advocate in Budhni. He was an active member of the Congress. He spent his entire life for the welfare of people and social service. This is the reason why we have decided to donate his organs, so that even after his death, his body can be useful for someone.
The age of the brain-dead patient was 73 years. Due to which his heart could not be donated. Doctors said that due to brain stroke, the rest of the organs of the patient were fine, but the heart was not working properly. This is the reason why the heart could not be useful for anyone. Eyes were donated to Gandhi Medical College.
