The Government School Teachers' Association on Saturday held an appreciation ceremony at New Delhi Municipal Hall in honour of state BJP President Virendra Sachdeva and party MPs for halting the transfer orders of over 5,000 teachers.

The event was organised by the association's General Secretary Arjun Veer Singh. He stated, “Following the efforts of Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has halted the transfer orders of 5004 teachers. In gratitude, the Government School Teachers' Association has honoured Sachdeva, along with North West MP Yogendra Chandolia, West Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat, and New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj.”

On this occasion, the Delhi BJP chief stated, “There is no one greater in this world than a teacher, and there is always something to learn from them. It is unacceptable that teachers should be transferred just because they have spent 10 years at a school.”

He accused the Kejriwal government of planning to exploit teachers during elections but failing in their attempt and emphasised that the BJP understands the pain of Delhi's citizens and has taken steps to address it.

“There should be no compromise on the dignity and respect of teachers. A conducive environment is necessary for teaching, but when the government turns teachers into event managers, the quality of education suffers, as seen in Delhi today. Delhi has changed and needs to be transformed back to its former state. Previously, people could bathe in the Yamuna, but now they can't even touch the water,” Sachdeva said.
