The aroma of Bagheli and Bundeli flavours wafted through the city for five days as the Royal and Rustic Food Festival introduced the gastronomically inclined to mouth-watering delicacies from the two regions.
Held at the Taj Lakefront from November 13 17, the to festival was graced by a host of eminent personalities.
Bollywood star Raghuvir Yadav and Durgesh Kumar were among those relishing the regional delicacies. The daily menu featured dishes like Indrahar Sabzi, Shikari Gosht, Bagheli Murgh, rotis made from nine grains, Kodo Pilaf, and Mahua Rabri.
Special guest Maharaja Pushpraj Singh Judev of Rewa added to the charm of the event.
For non-vegetarian lovers, the menu included Bagheli Bhujha Murgh, Bagheli Fish Curry, Sarson Murgh Curry, and Mutton Parihari. Vegetarians enjoyed Sirnaur Ki Revdi Chaat, Mahua Gulgula, Shahi Kathal Chakri, Bhutte Ka Kees, and Bundeli Kamal Kakdi Kebab.
All dishes were prepared from royal Bagheli recipes.
The Rewa royal said, "We brought an exceptional experience of Bagheli flavours for the people of Bhopal. The festival not only featured my favourite dishes but offered a unique chance to taste royal Bagheli cuisine." He added, "With the support of Madhya Pradesh Tourism, we plan to take these flavours to other states across the country."
Executive Chef at the Taj, Anup Gupta, said that the team visited Rewa to learn about authentic Bagheli and Bundelkhandi culinary traditions."
This festival focuses on women empowerment and its socio-economic impact, while helping to spread traditional Bagheli flavours," he said.The event was attended by senior officials, including Manu Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary of the Indian Administrative Service, and Avinash Lavania, MD of MP State Road Development Corporation.
