Fire ravages fruit stall in Daltonganj

Monday, 10 June 2024 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

Fire gutted two fruit stalls at the middle school chowk at Tarhassi. The incident happened last night.

The old stalls belonged to Sandeep Ram and Suresh Prasad. Both hail from the village Bara but used to earn their living at Tarhassi.

Officer in charge of the Tarhassi police station Niraj Singh said police have begun its investigation.

There are two probabilities to this fire. First it may be accidental. It's too hot now and any half lit substance can cause fire and damages.

Accidental fire is often caused by drug addicts like marijuana users who throw half lit substance here and there without bothering for anyone's safety.

Second is the fire may be a mischief fire. If it is a mischief fire then it is branded as man made fire.

However police officer Niraj Singh is very practical when he told this correspondent "Had the victims dropped any hint at any person who could have done this, law would have by now taken care of him but since there is no accusing finger towards anyone police proceed with open angle."

FIR has been drawn against unidentified he said.

There was a similar incident some three months back when three shops were found gutted.

Police officer Niraj Singh said the episode looks like any incident without any angle.
