Fire broke out in the campus of the GLA college here in Daltonganj.
Principal Dr I G Khalkho said there is no loss of property except that this fire destroyed the shrubs etc there.
Classes and labs are pretty safe.The cause of the fire is unknown. It looks more accidental, said sources.
Fire tender was called in to contain, control and extinguish the fire.
Last year too there had occurred surface fire at the same place where it broke out today.
As summer vacation is on, the campus was empty of the students said the principal.
Registrar of the Nilamber Pitamber university Dr Mritunjay Kumar said "The university will take report of this fire from the principal."
The registrar further said "A few smaller strength examinations like that of the nursing courses, law courses and Ignou are being held in the GLA college just to overcome the delay caused by the lok sabha election for which the district administration had almost requisitioned everything in this college from ground for parking hundreds of vehicles and rooms and multi purpose exam hall etc for having strong rooms for the EVMs and multi purpose exam hall for the counting of votes etc."
