In a bizarre incident, a family in Banmore of Morena district, celebrated the birthday of their mare, showcasing the strong bond with it.
The birthday was celebrated in a grand ceremony, where they cut a cake and hosted a feast attended by over 300 guests. The newborn mare received swings, toys, and other gifts from well-wishers, highlighting the significance of the occasion. While birth celebrations for dogs, cats, and birds are common, this unique event illustrates the depth of connection and affection that exists between humans and their animal companions, emphasizing the importance of cherishing and honouring all forms of life.
Sunil Prajapati, who resides on Khand Road in Banmore is involved in a business that uses horses and mares.
He owns both a horse and a mare. Sunil mentioned that the donkey had two foals in April. He had made a promise to Kashi Baba of Behat that if the horses were born healthy, he would throw a lavish birthday party for villagers. Once his wish came true, he celebrated the Dastone ceremony for the newly born horses. The male foal was named Bhola, and the female was called Chandni.
According to Sunil, his in-laws from Gwalior brought over swings, toys, sarees, and cradles for the event. Sunil greeted them with a band and invited villagers and relatives to the ceremony. The event saw attendance from more than 300 people. Sunil admitted that he hadn’t even celebrated his children Bhavana, Nikhil, Nancy, and Ved’s birthdays like this, which surprised many people. Sunil believes that the animals raised at home are part of the family and should be treated as such.
