Exit poll release by media houses is beyond truth: Cong

Tuesday, 04 June 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

The state Congress has termed the exit polls released by the Country's big media houses as beyond truth and facts.

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) Chief, Rajesh Thakur said that now it is too much, now the time has come, the Country's big media houses should now play their role, decide whether they are with the people in a democratic Country or with a particular party, the betting market and the capitalists. Giving an example, he said that the facts of the exit polls released by the major media houses are raising questions on it. For example, in Jharkhand, under the alliance, the CPI (ML) is contesting elections only on the Koderma seat but the exit poll is showing them two to three seats. Similarly, in Tamil Nadu, Congress is contesting elections on only 9 seats, he added.

“The same situation is in Karnataka, in Karnataka Congress is contesting elections on 9 seats under the alliance with DMK, there too Congress is being shown 13-15 seats. Now in such a situation, how can this exit poll be believed. Therefore, now it is too much, the major media houses of the country should decide their role otherwise this democracy will not survive,” said Thakur.

The JPCC Chief said that INDI Alliance and Congress fought the entire election on the basis of issues whereas BJP and the Prime Minister did not talk about a single issue in the entire election campaign. “No BJP leader or their PM Narendra Modi said a single word on the inflation and unemployment prevailing in the country. Narendra Modi and his team ran the entire election campaign on a directionless and issueless basis. Therefore, we can say that the result will come in our favour and after June 4, the INDI Alliance government will be formed in Delhi,” he added.

Thakur said that just as Modi ji is not biological, the exit poll is also the same. “This exit poll is a political pressure politics, through this pressure is being created on the officers. They are being intimidated; this is a pre-planned exit poll to create psychological pressure. We hope that the Election Commission will conduct a fair vote counting without coming under pressure from anyone, so that its credibility can be maintained in this democratic Country,” he added.

Thakur said that the Prime Minister says that we are giving five kg free ration to 80 crore poor people. “If we come to power, we will increase this number further, this clearly means that poverty is not going to decrease in the country in the coming days. Poverty will increase further. Unemployment and inflation will increase further,” he added.
