The Bharatiya Janata Party got a boost on Monday when senior leaders from several political parties, including Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress, as well as former DGP Vijay Kumar joined the ruling party here on Tuesday in presence of Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak.
Among the prominent figures who took BJP membership were former director general of police of Uttar Pradesh, Vijay Kumar, his wife, Anupama, former BSP MLC Manoj Agarwal, and former Farrukhabad nagar parishad chairman and BSP leader Vatsala Agarwal.
Other leaders who joined the BJP included former state secretary of SP, Ambuj Shukla, former assembly candidates of BSP, Sachin Tripathi and Sandeep Sharma Jackie (both from Kanpur) and their supporters.
Welcoming the new members into the BJP fold, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak emphasised the party’s commitment to service, good governance and the welfare of the poor under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He urged the newly inducted members to actively participate in strengthening the party at the grassroots level in their respective areas and booths.
Pathak reiterated Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a developed India, with a focus on economic and social development, particularly in rural areas, for the uplift of the poor and farmers.
He called upon all members to work towards fulfilling Modi’s vision by ensuring a resounding victory for the BJP in the upcoming elections, aiming to secure all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.
“The mass joining of leaders from diverse political backgrounds reflects the growing strength and influence of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh politics,” Pathak said.
