After seven months since the Lokayukta raid on the premises of Ashfaq Ali, a retired storekeeper from the Health Department, in Bhopal complete information about his bank accounts has not been obtained till date.

Even land records could not be found from the tehsil. The recovered jewelery is yet to be accounted for. According to the investigating officer, it may take another 4-5 months to complete the investigation.

Meanwhile, the complainant in the case has raised questions about the slow investigation and said that till now Lokayukta has not given any update related to the case whereas he has been continuously threatened. He has been pressurised to withdraw and compromise over the complaint.

Lokayukta had conducted the raid on the complaint of Azharuddin, a resident of Lateri in Vidisha district. Azhar has alleged that the investigation was slowed down after the initial proceedings. The challan has not been presented yet.

Construction work has started again on the properties where work was stopped. This includes Ashfaq's house in Lateri and a colony. At the same time, Ashfaq's people are pressuring him to withdraw and compromise. There are threats of death due to accidents. Even after telling all this to the police, no action was taken.

A bag full of notes was found from a house in Bhopal. A machine had to be ordered to count the notes.

On August 9, 2023, the Lokayukta team raided the luxurious house of retired storekeeper Ashfaq Ali in Green Valley Colony, Airport Road, Bhopal. A bag full of notes was found in it. A machine had to be ordered to count the notes. The interior of the accused's house is like a five star hotel. Its price was estimated at Rs 2 crore. Information about more than 50 immovable properties in the name of Ashfaq Ali's family members was revealed. Documents for purchasing immovable properties worth crores of rupees were found in the names of Ashfaq Ali, his sons Zeeshan Ali, Shariq Ali, daughter Hina Kausar and wife Rashida Bi. Lokayukta's team is getting these documents verified.

During the proceedings, information was found that there were many buildings in the name of Ashfaq and his family members in Lateri, Vidisha. These include a 14000 square feet shopping complex under construction on Anandpur Road and a three-storey building named Mustaq Manzil along with a luxurious house of about 2500 square feet on about one acre of land.
