The new draft electoral roll for the district will be published on October 29, in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The guidelines for the special summary revision programme of the voter list for 2025 stipulate that the publication will precede the process of adding names, making corrections, and removing names from the voter list. Citizens who will turn 18 years old can register their names in the voter list, both online and offline.
It is essential for voters to be aware of the procedures for adding, removing, and correcting names to ensure their names are included in the electoral roll.
According to the schedule released by the Election Commission, claims and objections will be accepted during a month-long period between October 29 and November 28. Four special camps will be organised for this purpose on Nov 9, 10, 16 and 17.The final publication of the voter list is scheduled for January 6, 2025.
A toll-free number, 1950, has been issued by the Chief Electoral Officer for citizens to easily access information regarding all processes related to adding names to the voter list.
